Phnom Bakeng – Bayon – Ta Prohm – Angkor Wat

Do you want to feel like Lara Croft and re-make some of the scenes in Tomb Raider? Then this is your tour! Follow Lara Croft's steps and visit the temples how they appear in the movie. The first stop will take you to Phnom Bakeng, a mountain temple from where you can see a beautiful view of Angkor Wat. You can climb to Phnom Bakeng using the tourist paths or you can choose to ride elephants, which is less tiring and much more exciting! Afterwards we will visit the beautiful temple of Bayon, with its 54 towers bearing the enigmatic smiling faces of king Jayavarman VII. After strolling around the temple we will continue our trip to Ta Prohm, the most spectacular temple of all, entwined with enormous trees, where Croft encounters the mysterious girl. To end our visit, we will go to the grand temple of Angkor Wat, where you can explore at your own leisure and perhaps stay to contemplate the sunset over the five towers of the temple.

And of course, no Lara Croft tour would be complete without making a rest stop at The Red Piano, the place where the filming crew relaxed after a tough day's work!

Banteay Srei – Kbal Spean – Beng Mealea

On the path to adventure! This is one of the most fascinating tours to follow. From the pink sandstone Banteay Srei to the green wilderness of Beng Mealea, this tour takes you into the Cambodian country side where you can relive a true Indiana Jones experience. The first stop will take you to Banteay Srei, one of the most delicate temples of the Khmer empire. The name was coined in modern times and it means citadel of women or citadel of beauty. It's pink sandstone and the intricate carvings of the bas-relieves made early scholars assume that the temple was made by women. It is the only temple in Cambodia that was commissioned by a counsellor, and not by the king himself. It's small size always surprises the visitor, but the exquisite carvings will also take your breath away.

The second stop will be on the side of the Kulen mountains, where a forest trail will take you to the source of the Kbal Spean spring. Hidden under the water or placed in strategic places, you will find a large number of carvings, from a frog at the top of a waterfall to a peaceful pool with a thousand lingas. It's an unforgetable experience, specially if you enjoy the wilderness.

Leaving the best for the end, the third stop takes you to the stunning temple of Beng Mealea. The history of the temple is virtually unknown, but its fallen towers and scattered walls make the perfect setting for an Indiana Jones experience. Creeping plants and giant roots decorate the blue sandstone of the temple, and a sense of timelessness invades the visitor. Beng Mealea has not been reconstructed, instead it lies in the same way it was found, which gives the visitor an idea of how forgotten cities are found after centuries of abandonment.

That is a difficult question! The most romantic way of visiting the temples is using a tuk-tuk, which is a carriage pulled by a motorcycle. The tuk-tuk gives you a better view of the scenery while you are traveling at a slow pace, and it's usually cheaper. Most tuk-tuks have a cover, so there is no problem if it rains. However, they don't have A/C and some times you want to go a little bit faster when you are traveling to faraway temples. You can always choose a different means of transportation for each tour, and you can arrange your itinerary with us to see which is the best option for your needs.
